Why heavy debris needs a dedicated container

Standard 20-yard mixed C&D dumpsters cap at 4 to 6 tons because the truck has to transport the load safely on Florida roads at legal axle weights. Heavy materials hit that limit fast, often at less than one-third of the visual fill line. That mismatch is why a generic dumpster doesn't work for concrete and asphalt jobs.

    STANDARD MIXED C&D DUMPSTER

    Built for volume, not weight

    • Cap at 4 to 6 tons by truck weight limit
    • Heavy load fills at 30% visual line
    • Per-ton overage fees stack up fast
    • Wasted swap-outs at half-empty

    OUR 20-YARD HEAVY DEBRIS CONTAINER

Built for the full 12-ton legal cap

    • 12-ton (24,000 lb) cap, full legal road weight
    • Reinforced frame for dense materials
    • One published price, no weight surcharges
    • Same-day swap-out for active sites

    Heavy Debris Dumpster Orlando, FAQ

What is heavy debris in Orlando dumpster rental?
Heavy debris is any demolition waste dense enough to hit a dumpster's weight cap before its volume cap. In Orlando, that means concrete, asphalt, brick, masonry block, stone, aggregate, ceramic tile, and clean fill dirt. These materials require our 20-yard concrete-only container with a 12-ton (24,000 lb) weight rating, not a standard mixed C&D dumpster.
Why do I need a special dumpster for heavy debris?
Standard 20-yard mixed C&D dumpsters cap at 4 to 6 tons because the truck has to safely transport the load on Florida roads. Heavy materials like concrete and asphalt blow past that limit at less than one-third of the visual fill line. Our 20-yard concrete-only container is built with a heavier-duty frame and rated for the full 12-ton legal road weight.
Can I mix heavy debris with regular trash?
No. Concrete, asphalt, brick, and stone must be in a separate heavy-debris-only container. If you load wood, drywall, sod, or general trash with the concrete, it gets reclassified as mixed C&D at the landfill, which costs significantly more per ton in tipping fees and may require us to re-sort the load before final disposal. Separate containers, separate streams.
How many tons fits in your 20-yard for heavy debris?
12 tons (24,000 lb) per swap. By volume that varies by material: about 3.7 cubic yards of solid concrete, 4 cubic yards of asphalt, 4.5 cubic yards of brick, 3.3 cubic yards of stone aggregate, 5 cubic yards of clean fill dirt. Use the material calculator above to estimate your specific job.
What's the heaviest material your 20-yard can take?
Reinforced concrete and quarry stone are the densest common materials. Both run 150 to 165 lb per cubic foot. Our 20-yard handles either at the full 12-ton cap. We don't take pure dirt loads over 12 tons per swap, dirt is dense (about 120 lb/cuft) and hits the weight limit at around 5 cubic yards.
Can I load asphalt millings or grindings?
Yes. Asphalt millings from parking lot resurfacing, driveway grindings, and clean asphalt chunks are accepted in our concrete-only container. Millings tend to compact denser than chunks, plan for the 12-ton cap to come up faster than you'd expect by visual volume.
Do you serve commercial construction sites?
Yes. Heavy debris dumpsters are deployed daily to active Orlando construction sites for foundation tear-out, slab demo, parking lot replacement, and site prep. Recurring contractor accounts get Net-30 billing, same-day swap-out, and direct dispatch. Apply for a commercial account through our concrete dumpster page.
What about dirt and clean fill?
We accept clean fill dirt (no organic material, no contamination, no roots) in the 20-yard concrete container at up to 12 tons per swap. If your dirt is mixed with sod, roots, or vegetation, it's classified as yard waste and goes in a separate mixed container. Pure excavation spoils from new construction or pool dig-outs are fine.
Do you handle ceramic tile demolition?
Yes. Tile demo from bathroom remodels, kitchen backsplash tear-outs, and pool deck resurfacing is accepted. Ceramic tile is about 110 lb/cuft, lighter than concrete but still heavy enough that we recommend the concrete-only container for jobs over a few hundred square feet.
Is there a permit for heavy debris dumpsters in Orlando?
Private property placement (your driveway, your construction site, your commercial lot) requires no City of Orlando permit. Public right-of-way placement requires a permit from City of Orlando Permitting Services or Orange County Public Works. Most heavy debris jobs are private property and need no permit. For street placement, we help coordinate the right-of-way application.
How fast can you deliver a heavy debris dumpster?
Same-day before noon for orders placed by 12pm, anywhere in our Orlando coverage area. Established commercial accounts get priority dispatch. First-time orders confirm by 11am for same-day delivery; after noon orders deliver next business day. We run a daily route through Orange, Osceola, Seminole, and Lake counties.
Do you charge fuel or weight surcharges?
No. The published rate includes the 12-ton weight allowance and standard fuel costs. Overage beyond 12 tons per swap is billed at a flat per-ton rate, no surge pricing, no surprise fees. The point of our concrete-only container is to give you the full legal road weight at one transparent price.
